Is this a real safari like in Kenya?
It is a different experience — the animals are in a large safari park with natural habitats, not in the wild open plains of East Africa. However, you still get very close to lions, giraffes, zebras and other African species. It is more accessible and family-friendly than a full East African safari.
How long is the drive from Cairo?
The safari park is approximately 1.5–2 hours from Cairo by private vehicle. It makes for an easy day trip, and you will be back in Cairo by late afternoon. The tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off.
Is the park suitable for young children?
Yes, the safari park is very family-friendly. The driving safari allows children to see animals up close from the safety of the vehicle. There are also playground areas within the park. Bring snacks and water as park food options are limited.
What animals can I expect to see?
The park has lions, tigers, giraffes, zebras, African ostriches, various antelope species, and monkeys. There is also a bird park with colourful species. The animals roam in large enclosures designed to mimic their natural habitats.

Safari Park Experience
Egypt's Africa Safari Park is a large drive-through wildlife park about 1.5 hours from Cairo. Animals including lions, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, and antelopes roam in spacious enclosures. Unlike East African safaris, you stay in your private vehicle and drive through designated zones. It is accessible and family-friendly.
Best Time to Visit
Visit early morning when the park opens (9 AM) when animals are most active after the cooler night. October to April offers the most comfortable weather. Summer visits should be early to avoid the midday heat. The park is quieter on weekdays — weekends can be busy with local families.
What to Bring
Bring snacks and plenty of water — the park's food options are limited and basic. Binoculars enhance the experience for bird watching and distant animal viewing. A hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses are essential. A camera with a zoom lens (200mm+) is highly recommended for animal photography.
